*Position Summary:*
The role will support two locations, Rockford and Seward, IL.
The HR Generalist serves as an administrator for recruiting, employee relations, benefits, payroll, time and attendance, health and safety, employee performance, discipline, training, and employee records.
This position acts as a business partner to provide human resources knowledge and guidance.
Supports and promotes HR department goals, objectives, and initiatives.
*Essential Job Functions:*
* Responsible and accountable for all Human Resources functions, including, but not limited to employee relations and organizational effectiveness.
* Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required.
* Accurately processes weekly payroll with ADP for hourly and salaried workforce.
* Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, applicants, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
* Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
* Build relationships with department leaders to provide advice and guidance on HR matters while maintaining confidentiality.
* Primary contact for new hire enrollment, open enrollment, issues, and questions.
* Manages disability and leave of absence processes with employees for FMLA, STD, and LTD while ensuring adherence to ADA and HIPAA.
* Prepare and submit requested documentation for audits with payroll, workers compensation, and 401K.
* Conducts required training and maintains supporting documentation.
* Willing to assist and help in any department with a positive attitude.
* Always maintain a clean and safe working area.
*Qualifications:*
* Previous Human Resources Generalist experience (preferred).
* Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to present oneself in a professional, courteous manner, either in person, phone, or email.
* Trustworthy, knowledgeable, and approachable.
* Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm.
* Able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment with shifting priorities.
* Accountable for your work and attendance.
*Experience:*
* Previous Human Resources experience: 3 years (preferred).
* Microsoft Office Suite.
* PHR/SHRM-CP Certification is a plus.
